Bancalan island - Philippines

Port of Bancalan at the Balabac region, south Palawan, Philippines. On the boat to Balabac it stopped by this gorgeous island. Having arrived at Balabac island, we find ourself in an ugly stinky town with nowhere to go and nothing to do. Because of the rain the roads were a no-go and the only tourist boat was already booked. Next morning we took the ferry to Bancalan where we enjoyed a real off the beaten track experience at an island that hardly sees any tourists. The friendly Sanchez family rented us one of their rooms and cooked us wonderful food while we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, swimming, drinking and going out on fishing and island hopping tours. Tankahan Beach - Philippines

Tankahan beach near Bancalan island at the Balabac region, south Palawan, Philippines. Another gorgeous island in this region that is just filled with gorgeous island, inhabited by only a few locals. The waters look especially nice from the sky, swimming was good here, but as in most of the country, waters are shallow, fish are few and corals are dead.
